File location for module assembly and cable/interconnect assembly

We are working on an attachment that connects into the existing remote module design. Is there a solidworks drawing for the generic remote module packaging (ie enclosure, lidthrough, connectors, and header) or is that only with the PG4 and BP2 models? Can you point me to the full assembly in those files? For a starting point for the connector, would you recommend starting with the network cable or electrode? Can you point me to the full assembly for one of those?

Remote Module Design

Hi! For understanding the mechanical design of a generic remote module, both the PG4 and BP2 are sufficient. They have the same construction. The only thing to keep in mind is that they differ when it comes to the electrical connections.

Electrical Differences

The PG4 uses groups the mini Bal-seal contacts together for monopolar stimulation and the BP2 maintains two electrically unique contacts for bipolar recording. Many people are looking to do bipolar applications, and for this reason, I recommend starting with the BP2 CAD for understanding what a new remote module would look like.

Connector Design

I recommend starting with the network cable. The network cable has an interconnect on both ends; these interconnects match the proximal ends of the electrodes.

Electrical Differences

Just the same, the connector on the stim electrodes have shorted contacts for the purpose of monopolar stimulation unlike the connector on the network cable and recording electrodes. This is the reason to reference the bipolar aspect of the network cable (and recording electrodes).

Request for Input

There is not a separate Solidworks fileset for what a generic remote module would be in the way we have done for the common remote module firmware GitHub: COSMIIC-Community/Implantables-GenericModule-App. Would this be worth us including in the open source offering in the future?
