COSMIIC tSNIP: $3.7M Device Development and Study of Photobiomodulation Based on COSMIIC System

Huge congratulations to Michael Moffitt, Michael Jenkins, and @nmakowski for their funded R01 titled “COSMIIC tSNIP to Treat Chronic Knee Pain”! They’re turning the COSMIIC System into a intra-body light delivery device! The project seeks to validate tSNIP (transient selective neural inhibition via photobiomodulation) as a treatment for chronic knee pain. This includes development of a light-delivery cuff and a module to control it. They will study the device in sheep to characterize its analgesic efficacy.

We’re very excited to have the COSMIIC System pushing into the promising field of photobiomodulation!
